How to Resize Multiple Images at Once

Resizing one image is a two-minute job. Resizing forty of them the same way, one at a time, is how you lose an afternoon. If you have a folder of product photos, event pictures, or listing shots that all need to be the same size, doing them individually is the slow way. Batch resizing does the whole set in one pass.

When you actually need this

Single-image tools are fine until the moment you have a stack of photos that all need identical treatment. That happens more often than people expect:

  • Online stores. A product catalog looks messy when every photo is a different size. Marketplaces and store themes usually want every image at one fixed dimension.
  • Real estate and rentals. A listing might have twenty photos straight off a camera, each several megabytes, all needing to shrink before upload.
  • Email and sharing. Sending a folder of full-resolution phone photos clogs an inbox. Resizing the batch first keeps the attachment reasonable.
  • Websites and blogs. Uploading camera-sized images slows a page to a crawl. Resizing them as a group before upload keeps the site fast.

In every one of these, the images need the same size, so the sensible move is to set the size once and apply it to all of them.

The batch approach in plain terms
